spotter privacy policy
spotter is a training log for a coach and their group. This page says what it keeps about you, who sees it and how to take it with you or delete it.
What we collect
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes. Nobody else in your group sees it.
- Your name, units, plate increment and timezone, as you set them.
- Your training: workouts, exercises, sets, loads and reps, your session notes and how a session felt, and the comments and reactions you post.
- Each phone's push token, so we can send it notifications you turned on.
- Crash reports, when crash reporting is on in your build of the app: sent to Sentry with your account id, without your email, notes or training. Errors on our server are reported to Sentry too, the same way.
Who sees what
- Your coach sees all of your training, your notes and how a session felt included.
- Your teammates see your workouts, PRs and badges in the group feed, and your place on the board, only while sharing is on: it is your choice, unless your coach requires it. They never see your notes or how a session felt.
- Comments on your workout are seen by you and your coaches.
Where it is kept
On your phone, and on Cloudflare (Workers and the D1 database), which also keeps 30 days of backups. Notifications go through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google). Feedback you send from Settings goes to our issue tracker, Linear, with your app version and build, Android version, phone model, account id and the group you were in.
There are no ads, and we never sell or share your data with anyone else.
Taking it with you, and deleting it
- Export my data in Settings makes a CSV of your workouts, sets, your comments and your comments on the group feed on your phone, and works offline.
- Delete my account in Settings deletes your account and sign-in at once. Your notes, how sessions felt, your name and what you posted on the feed are wiped right away, and the comments you wrote on others' workouts read "[deleted]". Your training leaves your group's phones when they next sync, our database within 30 days, and our backups within 30 more.
